Snow Springs Baptist Church. The Buttrum family lived near here on Buttrum Road.
This
CSA tombstone for Elias G. Carnes at the Blue Pond Baptist Church
Cemetery is placed here in error. The Elias G. Carnes buried at Blue
Pond is the nephew of the Elias G. Carnes who served in the 8th Georgia
Infantry. Furthermore, this tombstone is actually on the grave of
Richard B. Carnes, and vice versa. The flat marker below is at the foot
of the above gravesite. |
This
is the marker for the grave of Harriet Elizabeth "Lizzie" Bagwell
Carnes at the Blue Pond Baptist Church Cemetery in Floyd County. She is
the wife of Elias G. Carnes above. |
The grave of Elias W. Carnes, son of Elias G. Carnes and Lizzie Bagwell above, at Blue Pond Baptist Church Cemetery. |
This
headstone for Richard B. Carnes is actually on the grave of Elias G.
Carnes above, and vice versa. Richard B. Carnes is Elias G. Carnes' son. |
No living Carnes
descendants that I have been able to contact know who this stone is
for. It is located in the Blue Pond Baptist Church Cemetery along with
the other Carnes Graves. Fannie Mae Carnes' daughter still living thought it might be a grave marker. |
Littleton
Fountain, husband of Ann Carnes (daughter of Shem and Elizabeth), is
buried at the Connesena Baptist Church Cemetery near Hall's Station,
Georgia. |
